Coach Edmonds and "Hits for Ruby"

Ani's brother in law's brother, Lance Edmonds, coaches a little league baseball team. The team has taken Ruby and her cause to the baseball field and are doing "Hits for Ruby" as they enter championship play tonight and into next week. Lance has told us the response has been overwhelming and they are currently raising money through hits, strikeouts, and any other stats parents and supporters wish. If you would like to donate to Ruby via the Pirates baseball team please email Lance at radafmd@yahoo.com and let him know what you would like to do (ex $5 per hit).

Here is the team and game info:

Vacaville National Little League Minor Championships
31-May to 7 June
First Game: 31 May 2011 5:30pm
Keating Field in Vacaville

A special thanks to Lance and to the team mom, Barb Bruner, who has gone above and beyond to help Rubes!

Update

A lot of people have asked for an update as to where we are with fundraising and what the goal is. The response has been amazing in the short two or three days this blog has been up and we surpassed the $1,500 mark this morning!

Matt and Ani are blown away by the help and can't thank everyone enough. I know they feel the love and it helps so much in their time of need.

As far as a goal goes, we are hoping to raise $10,000. Each ER visit is $500 (and they have many, many of those under the belt already) in addition to co-pays, very expense medication (I have been told Ruby will have to take anti-rejection meds for her entire life), gas getting to UCLA from Orange County and expensive LA food.

Thanks again for your support and please spread the word to help the Taylor's!
